"Make Haste!" words by Fanny Crosby, 1903, and music by Benjamin C. Unseld

A storm gathers dark o’er the foam crested deep,
And souls on the billows are tossed;
Then forth let us go, with a message of hope,
Speed on, lest their vessel be lost.

Refrain

Make haste, make haste,
Make haste to the rescue, away!
Speed on, quickly on, with a message of hope—
No time for a moment’s delay.

No bright beaming star in the darkness they see,
No bells from the harbor they hear;
Their frail, shattered bark, still is drifting afar,
Speed on, with a message of cheer.

Refrain

A light softly breaks, and their peril is o’er;
They hear, and they answer our call;
Our boat hurries on with the
Pilot on board—In Him is a refuge for all.

Refrain

They say that Fanny Crosby was profoundly blind.

I read the words of her hymns and realize that she, in fact, had near perfect "vision".

If only all of us could see the fears of this life through Fanny's eyes.

He is our hiding place,

I couldn't put it in better words. I agree with you so much. Fanny Crosby had a vision in her mind. That was the vision of Christ in Heaven. It goes to show that what we may not see, the very person whom we may think would not see, does. If only everybody could have Fanny's perseverance....

Always for Christ,

Aidan
